It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere
It is always 5:00 somewhere … a very happy hour to close down the day, party, and kick off the weekend of ARTfeast events.
Join us for hearty appetizers created by Walter Burke Catering and classic cocktails, while listening to the New Mexico School for the Arts Jazz Ensemble.
Showcased throughout the evening is the artful clothing created by artist and textile designer Patricia Michaels from Taos. Michaels appeared on the Emmy Award-Winning Season 11 of “Project Runway,” where she claimed the runner-up title and was the first Native American to appear on the show. In 2014-2015 she competed with thirteen other designers in the Season 4 of Project Runway All-Stars, and in November 2014 she received the prestigious Arts and Design award from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
A selection of silent and live auction items will also enliven this fabulous evening of FUNdraising for ARTsmart programs. Bid on a set of 12 unique salad/dessert plates inspired by Kandinsky’s color theories and a Back to Santa Fe package from La Posada de Santa Fe. Also available are silk scarves designed and batik dyed by De Vargas Middle School students, who were inspired by International Folk Art Market celebrity Gasali Adeyemo.
A highlight of this evening is the live auction of students’ plates. This series of 12 salad plates will be available.
